Restoring Passenger Rail Service
We are moving towards restoring a true national rail network that includes service to the much of the Greater Northwest. The Federal Railroad Administration's Long-Distance Service Study is recommending 15 routes to expand the nation's passenger rail system.
Moving Freight by Rail
Across the Pacific Northwest, trains moved 50.1 million tons of freight in 2021, taking the equivalent of 4.1 million trucks of the road. Investing in the efficient movement of freight rail benefits both the local and regional economy.
As an example, see the success of the Pines Road Grade Separation Project in Spokane Valley, WA.
We’re planning to discuss these exciting opportunities at the Third Annual Greater Northwest Rail Summit October 8-9 in Spokane.
The event is co-sponsored by All Aboard Northwest, the Pacific Northwest Economic Region, Big Sky Passenger Rail Authority, All Aboard Washington, The Association of Oregon Rail and Transit Advocates, and the Northwest Region of the Rail Passengers Association.
